Our parents, Mary & Ron Grayston, met Tony & Joan Gallery through their connections with the dancing at St Ambrose some 40 years ago. After Mary died in 1996, Ron discovered that Joan, already a widow, was a good listener. He was grateful for her support and then for her companionship over the months and years that followed. She was caring, kind, practical and thoughtful. We were both living in different parts of the country and very much appreciated the difference that Joan made to Ron’s quality of life. They remained friends until he died in 2007. She was a wonderful woman!
